When we make new year?s resolutions to exercise more, we have only the best intentions. Normally, no one stands over you, making sure that you go to the gym and work out. Now there is an app to do that. If you sign a pact with GymPact, every time you miss your workout, you will pay! Your fine goes to the people who actually keep their workout promises.
The GymPact app has been available on iOS and is now on Android. Decide how often you will work out. A pact must involve at least one workout per week, with a minimum $5 fine for a missed workout. Penalty charges go on your credit card on file with GymPact. You can change your workout schedule from week to week, as long as you lock it in before midnight on Sunday. The workout week runs from Monday to the following Sunday.
The app records each time you report to the gym, using GPS. It will also integrate with the RunKeeper app, so you can count at least 30 minutes of running, walking or biking as a workout in a pact. This could be helpful when you are out of town and cannot make it to your regular gym.
Yifan Zhang, CEO and co-founder of the San Francisco-based GymPact, told RESCUECOM, ?For those serious about making a change to exercise more, GymPact is the only app with proven, long-term results.?Our cash incentives help you hit your workout commitment each week, for over six months on average.? ?
According to GymPact, about 100,000 people have signed up. The average amount earned for completing a workout is $.50, with people missing a workout paying $5 or $10 each time.
While the payout may not be huge, it still recognizes your accomplishments and keeps you motivated to continue. The fine gives you a more immediate reason to stick to your fitness schedule. According to GymPact, users performed 86 percent of their promised workouts in 2012.
?Also, GymPact works best for those who are least active!? Zhang added. ?Based on our integration with outdoor workout tracker RunKeeper, we helped people who exercised less than one day a week increase their workouts by 520 percent.?
Do not let problems with your iPhone keep you from getting credit for a GymPact workout. Call a reputable computer company, such as RESCUECOM, for immediate iPhone repair.
?We?re working on a feature to count home workouts as well. That way we can cover all ways of exercise, from gym check-ins, to RunKeeper runs to home and office workouts!? Zhang noted.
As regular workouts are beneficial to you, electronic devices also benefit from regular maintenance. For computer service, schedule a phone or remote consultation or an in-person visit from skilled technicians, such as RESCUECOM.
Beware of using GymPact if you do not take your workouts seriously. You could lose money for not keeping your resolution.
