Craig B. from Raytown, Missouri told me, ?I?m leaving the country if Obama wins. I?m leaving the country if Romney wins. I need a vacation.?
John S. from Los Angeles, California told me today that when they arrived at the Belarus border from Lithuania on September 28, 2012, the border guard said, ?you need medical coverage in Belarus?. John showed him his travel insurance policy. The border guard told him ?that?s not valid here?. Before John disputed the charge, he asked the price. It was just 21,740 Belarusian Rubles (US $2.53). Coincidentally, the border guard?s girlfriend happened to have a booth a few feet away selling the $2.53 plan.
Here?s what I received in an email this past weekend: ?I don?t like insurance companies and I don?t trust insurance advisors. That said, I know you want to make a buck and sell me a cruise insurance policy for my $892 cruise (I am driving and have no airfare). I am 73 years old and booked my cruise today. Which plan do you recommend and why should I buy it from you??
I?ll leave it up to your imagination how I responded to that email. Hint: I was very kind. Thankfully, as of now, he hasn?t written me back.
On Oct. 23, 2012, I received a feedback comment regarding one of the many travel insurance providers I do not recommend. It was an enthusiastically written piece about how happy they are with XYZ company (?we use __________ on every cruise we take?) and the author wondered why I didn?t offer plans from that company. She stated ?you need to put your personal feelings aside. It?s old-fashioned to pre-select your plans.?
I really appreciated that she signed her comments with her full name and email address from that particular company (jean@OneOfTheManyCompaniesSteveDoesntRecommend.com).
Remember:
Leave the country if Obama wins.
Leave the country if Romney wins.
You need a vacation.
