University of Baltimore - the School of Public & International Affairs (SPIA) in the College of Public Affairs invites applications for a faculty position (rank open) to begin in August 2013 (contingent on final budgetary approval). The successful candidate must be well prepared to teach courses in statistics, quantitative methods, and policy analysis in both the master's and doctoral programs in public administration. The ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas--economic decision-making and policy, information resource management, and public and nonprofit management--is a plus. The successful candidate also will teach in the undergraduate Government and Public Policy Program and may teach online courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level.

Candidates for this position must hold a doctorate in public administration, political science, public policy, or a related discipline; have a record of scholarly activities; and clearly demonstrate the potential for quality university instruction and service to their profession and the university. Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest, vita, and three letters of reference. If applying for the Associate or Full Professor rank, please include examples of publications and teaching evaluations. If applying for the Assistant Professor rank, please include either publications or writing samples; and teaching evaluations if available. The School of Public and International Affairs has sixteen full-time faculty members with advanced degrees from leading higher education institutions such as Harvard University, Syracuse University, the University of California, Berkeley, Rutgers University, University at Albany, The Johns Hopkins University, and American University. Three faculty members are fellows in the National Academy of Public Administration (NASPAA) and one is a Fulbright Scholar.

SPIA offers bachelor's degrees in Government and Public Policy and International Studies, master's degrees in Public Administration, Negotiation and Conflict Management, and Global Governance and Human Security, and a doctorate in Public Administration. The MPA Program is accredited by the NASPAA. The School offers a dual program with the School of Law (MPA/JD). In addition to SPIA, the College of Public Affairs houses the School of Health and Human Services and the School of Criminal Justice.
