ALU-Enterprise Targets SMB with Social and Mobile - Unified ...

Alcatel-Lucent announced an update to its OpenTouch Suite for SMB. The Enterprise division of ALU hopes to lure SMBs to its OpenTouch Suite by promising a path to social networking and mobility. The solution also hopes to catch a ride on the BYOD wave.

The OmniPCX Office Rich Communications Edition (RCE) is an appliance class solution which ALU reports is utilized by more than 17 million SMB users around the globe. Frost & Sullivan recognized it with its 2012 Global Market Share Leadership Award (SMB). The OpenTouch Suite for SMB bundles various UC applications with the OmniPCX Office Rich Communication Edition (RCE) release 9.

New Features Include:

• My IC Social Networks ? Employees can get social with internal and external contacts via channels like Skype, Facebook, Yahoo and MSN. My IC Social Networks syncs with employees? Outlook directories and presence.
• Mobility ? New IP DECT Access Point enables use of more features and services, like Universal Directory Access, while supporting a mobile environment. My IC Mobile for iPhone and Android applications keep employees connected while on the go.
• Video and Visual Collaboration ? Two new video solutions are available for either video telephony via the My IC Phone video endpoint or video conferencing with LifeSIZE Unity 50.
• My IC Web for Office ? Provides browser-based unified communication services which provides access to monitor and manage calls, change settings or initiate a call.
• Capacity increased up to 120 SIP phones on the OmniPCX Office R9.0.
• A new entry-level SIP endpoint.
• Smart Call Routing routes calls based on multiple criteria.
